A Gift from Us to You with Play Studios

@Play__Studios is a project by Carson Keeling, a designer and a recent graduate from the University of Kansas. Carson loves making things in her free time. Her design practice is focused on finding ways she can use her designs to help cultivate change. @Play__Studios was created as an experiment and has been used to raise money for organizations that Carson believes in. They have raised over $650 for The Sunrise Movement.

Hey Carson! Can you introduce yourself to our community?

But a little about me - I'm a designer and a recent graduate from the University of Kansas. I am currently working at a design studio in New York, but am living in St. Louis, MO. I love making things in my free time and am interested in finding ways I can use my designs to help cultivate change. I am still in the process of figuring that out but have a huge appreciation for brands and voices that are helping make the world better. I made @Play__Studios as a sort of experiment, and have used it to raise money for organizations I believe in. So far, we have raised over $650 for The Sunrise Movement! I am looking for people who are interested in collaborating, and was so happy when you reached out to me! 

Tell us a little bit about your design practice and how it came to be?

During quarantine, I started making graphics as a personal outlet and started posting them on my account. I began doing limited release work with Everpress, to raise money, and have been so lucky to have cultivated a community of people who are interested in helping and raising up causes we all love!

What do you hope people would feel when they see your work?

Inspired.

How would you describe your work?

Type heavy, swiss inspired. I love to experiment. I'm still learning what my style is (and failing! But continuing to learn what I like/who I am as a designer).

What are some songs that you're currently listening to?

I am OBSESSED with disco. Great music to get you in the creative spirit. Drugdealer, Bee Gees, and the like. I also have been jamming to some French tunes lately (check out Francoise Hardy).
