Monday Must: Festive Screen-Free Activities

AS TEMPTING AS TECH IS, NOW, MORE THAN EVER WE’RE TRYING OUR BEST TO STAY AWAY. THIS WEEK WE’VE LINED UP OUR GO-TO NO-SCREEN ACTIVITIES * HOLIDAY EDITION * TO INSPIRE YOU (AND REMIND US) TO TAKE A BREAK FROM OUR TECH!

We all now know how important it is now to schedule time off-screen and we’re equally aware of how hard it is when the majority of our entertainment, socialization and work is done via our tech. Mary has recommended some tech-free activities before. But, to keep the festivities going, we want to share some holiday-themed activities that you and your loved ones can do together!

Make a Wreath

Get crafty and make a decorative wreath - here’s a DIY festive wreath that we found. There are so many variations out there but we picked a classic one for you. It’ll make a great weekend activity and you’ll get a beautiful decoration piece out of it.

Make Handmade Cards

It might be a little late to send out holiday cards but you can create some New Years’ cards to wish everyone you know a happy New Year! It always feels more sincere when a card is handmade. It’ll be a fun craft activity and you get to flex your creative muscles.

Bake Goodies

When the holidays roll around baked goods are a must. The choices are endless from snickerdoodle cookies to cakes. You can make goodies for yourself or for friends and family – either way it’ll make your home smell amazing.

Call a Loved One

If there’s someone you haven’t talked to in a while and you haven’t been able to see them - give them a call. Make that the only thing that you’re doing and so you’re giving them your undivided attention. If you want to stay true to the screen-free, avoid face timing and talk on the phone!

Holiday Karaoke

This one may or may not require a screen depending on how well you know your holiday music - but if you’re a household with a karaoke machine it’s time to put it to use or you can pull up this Youtube channel and sing your heart out.
