Monday Must: Set Your Week Up For Success
THIS IS TAYLOR – CERTIFIED LIFE COACH AND FOUNDER OF ELEVATE AND EXPAND, A COMMUNITY OF CURIOUS INDIVIDUALS LOOKING TO DEEPEN SELF-AWARENESS, DIVE INTO SELF-EXPLORATION, AND EXPERIENCE FULFILLMENT THROUGH SELF-ACTIVATION.
WE’VE ALL EXPERIENCED THE ROLLERCOASTER THAT HAS BEEN 2020. IN TIMES LIKE THESE, TAYLOR BELIEVES IT’S ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT TO BE INTENTIONAL ABOUT THE WAYS IN WHICH WE CAN SET OURSELVES UP FOR SUCCESS. CURATED AND WRITTEN BY TAYLOR - SHE SHARES HER FAVOURITE ACTIONS TO SET HERSELF UP FOR A GOOD WEEK.
1. ALLOW YOURSELF TIME TO JUST BE
Even though we’re in the midst of a global pandemic, we have still managed to become equally as “busy” as we were before. While running around the city to the office and events may have been replaced by Facetime catch-ups and chores around the house, we are still filling our time. It’s so important to carve out space and time in our week to simply be. Book a morning or afternoon where you can just be, and let your actions be driven from your intuition vs. the desire to be productive.
2. SET INTENTIONS
Setting intentions can help us set the tone for our week. How do you want to feel this week? What would success look like to you? How can you set yourself up for success? What is one thing you want to accomplish?
3. SCHEDULE IN TIME FOR THE THINGS THAT NOURISH YOUR BODY, MIND, AND SOUL
What are the things that make you feel good? Like, really good? It’s important that we commit to scheduling in time or activities that support our holistic selves - body, mind, and soul. A friend of mine and the Founder of Girl Gang Goodies, Morgan, once suggested that the key to self-care is to book a meeting with yourself like you would with anyone else. Pencil it in your calendar, and stick to it!
4. SET A GOAL TO MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD
Set a goal this week to make you feel good. Instead of setting a goal based on the tangible outcome (run X kilometres, get a promotion), set a goal based on the feeling you’re looking to achieve (ie. I want to feel happy, amused, or relaxed). Let your actions be driven by an intended emotion you’re hoping to feel and experience.
5. CONNECT WITH YOUR FAMILY OR LOVED ONES, WITHOUT DISTRACTIONS
Make sure you create time each week to connect with your friends, family, or communities of people or causes that you care about. Connection is more important than ever. The key: make sure you are able to fully commit and spend quality time without distractions. Clear your schedule and tuck your phone away during that time, so you can be 100% present.
