January: Wake Up Your Body

FOR THE FIRST MONTHLY INTENTION OF 2021, WE’RE LOOKING AT HOW WE CAN GET MOVING EVEN IN THE SMALLEST WAYS.

This month we want to look at ways to energize your body, we’re specifically looking for small ways to do so – whether you’re doing this by yourself or with assistance. Our intention this month is to strengthen our body awareness and explore actions that wake our bodies up. 

We want to pay special attention to how each action betters our understanding of our bodies, how we can use it as an opportunity to check-in and to better our relationships with the body we live in. 

WEEK ONE: STRETCHES FOR ALL

WEEK TWO: LYMPHATIC MASSAGES

WEEK THREE: FACIAL EXERCISES

WEEK FOUR: BREATH WORK

After exploring our monthly intention, we want to spend some time reflecting on whether these ways to wake up your body is something you’d like to keep and explore deeper or something you’d like to leave behind. We’re firm believers that self-care is not one size fits all, and in fact, it may not even be a tool that will resonate with you all the time. This is why it’s important to look back and ask yourself what helped and what didn’t. 

We’ve prepared a few prompts for those of you who have followed along this month or have gone through this monthly intention on your own time. 

Reflection Prompts:

  1. What practices felt grounding and brought more attention to how my body was feeling?

  2. Which practices gave me peace, fulfillment and/or joy?

  3. How can I incorporate the practices that I enjoyed into my day to day life?
